When an organisation changes its name, the visual identity that follows must do more than look the part. It must communicate something true about who they are and what they stand for.
Integrity Oversight Victoria (formerly the Victorian Inspectorate) marked a significant new chapter in February 2025. As Victoria’s lead integrity oversight body, overseeing 15 agencies including IBAC and the Victorian Ombudsman, the identity needed to carry real weight. Clarity, authority, and transparency weren’t just brand values, but the organisation’s entire reason for existing.
The brief pointed us toward one clear creative challenge: build a logo where every design decision reflected the new journey IOV was embarking on.
The circular “O” at the centre of the mark represents oversight and integrity, a continuous, unbroken commitment to accountability. The two lines that intersect it form an adjustable lens, capable of widening and narrowing focus, reflecting how IOV operates across Victoria’s broad integrity landscape. Each element was considered specifically to communicate the organisation’s role and values, rather than simply fulfil a visual brief.
To carry this identity across their full ecosystem, we developed a 3D glass-like version of the mark. The transparency of the material reinforces the organisation’s core values. It offers clarity and visibility at every touchpoint while bringing depth and movement to the identity without compromising the integrity of the mark itself.
This 3D identity was applied consistently across reports, guidelines, digital platforms, motion, and their website, creating a visual system that holds together at every scale and in every context.
The result is an identity that doesn’t just represent a new name. It represents a new direction, built on a foundation of purpose and meaning.
